PARTICIPATION AND PRESENTATION OF PAPERS IN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES

  1. Presented a Paper, titled “Teaching English Creatively to Forest Dwelling Tribal Children” at the Golden Jubilee and 14 the International Annual Conference of English Language Teachers Association of India, organized between 9-12, October, 2019, in collaboration with Amity University,Noida, UP; and with the support of British Council, Regional English Office,U.S. Embassy, India and Cambridge University Press.
  2. Presented a Paper titled “Neuro-Psychiatric Disorders on Stage: How Theatre Educates” at Healthy Brain, an International Conference, organized jointly by JSS Academy for Higher Education and Research and Society for Neurochemistry India (SNCI)), on 14.3.2019.

  3. Presented a Paper, titled “Teaching English Creatively to Children in the Margins: The Children’s Literary Club Way” at the International Seminar organized by Dibrugarh University, Assam. Art and Culture: Change and Continuity”, the Seminar sponsored  by ICCR, SNA and DU  was organized on 4th and 5th of March, 2019.

  4. Presented a Paper, titled “Dissenters in the Select Plays of Kuvempu” at the XV International Conference of Indian Society for Theater Research (The Indian Chapter of International Federation for Theater Research). Discourses of Dissent: Exploring the Paradigms, an International Conference was held from 7.2.2019 to 9.2.2019. The Conference was organized by the School of Media & Communication, Manipal University Jaipur.

  5. Participated in a 2 Day International Seminar on Relevance of Performing and Visual Arts in Contemporary Society: A Perspective, organized on the 5th and 6th of January, 2019, by the Department of Dance of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat, in association with UGC and presented a Paper titled “Towards Capacity Building: Some Reflections on the Role of Educational Theatre”. Acted a scene from the Play “Stage Chemistry: Neuro-Psychiatric Disorders on Stage” by way of demonstration.

  6. 3 Day XIV International Conference of Indian Society for Theater Research at the Department of Performing Arts (Film and Theatre), Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, Wardha, Maharashtra, on Protest to Perform or Perform to Protest: Performances of the World, 15-17 January 2018. Presented a paper titled “Protest Theatre: Reflections on Select Kannada Plays” and Chaired Sessions titled “Protest in Performance: New Forms, New Styles and Grammar” and “Protesting Narratives of Marginality, Colonialism and Power Politics” and presented a Mono-Acting Piece to do with Protest.

  7. 2 Day International Conference on “English Language, Literature & Communication: Innovations and Applications in the Teaching – Learning Scenario” (ELLCIATLS-2017) Organized by The School of Humanities at K.R. Mangalam University on 3rd and 4th of February 2017. Presented a paper titled “Reading Kannada Critical Works on Shakespeare to Enhance Understanding and Appreciation”

Presented a paper titled “Agents of Change: Reflections on Select Kannada Travelling Theatre Groups”and Chaired a Session titled “Society, Culture and Theatre Mobility”
  9. One Day International Conference on “Theatre and other Performing Arts: Aesthetics, Polity, Economy, History and Space” organized by Bangalore University Department of Performing Arts in connection with the University’s Golden Jubilee Year of Celebrations and World Theatre Day on 30.3.2016. Presented a Paper titled “Teaching English Language Skills through English Theatre for the Underprivileged Students of Bharathi Stree Samaj, Mysuru: Challenges and Possibilities”.

  11. 3 Day International Conference, organized by XII International Conference of Indian Society for Theatre Research and Directorate of Art & Culture, Government of Goa on 28th, 29th and 30th of  January, 2016 and presented a Paper titled “Contribution to Children’s Theatre: The Children’s Literary Club Way”.
  12. 2 Day “International Conference on Shakespeare and Kuvempu” organized by Sree Adichunchungiri Samstana Mutt on the 24th and 25th of April 2015 at Adichunchungiri Mutt. The Conference was to do with the 450th Birth Anniversary Year of William Shakespeare. Presented a special Cultural event titled “In Search of Shakespeare and Kuvempu”. Did Concept Designing, Script Writing and played 8 roles.

  2. Presented a Paper titled “‘We Care for Environment that is Ours, Hence We Act’: Performance by Women of Action”, at the 45th All India Sociological Conference. Environment, Culture and Development: Discourses and Intersections, a National Conference held from 27.12.2019 to 29.12.2019 in Trivandrum. The Conference was organized by the Indian Sociological Society, and hosted by Kerala University, Trivandrum.



  3. Presented a Paper titled “Nurturing Science Theatre in English: Experiments by Children’s Literary Club”, at Research in Teaching, Training, and Learning (NSRTTL-2019), UGC Sponsored Two Day National Seminar, organized by the Department of Education and HRD, Dravidian University, Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh, on 21st and 22nd March, 2019



  4. Participated in 3 Day, 44th All India Sociological Conference. Reconstructing Sociological Discourse in India: Perspectives from the Margins, a National Conference, held from 27.12.2018 to 29.12.2018 in Mysuru; organized by the Indian Sociological Society, and St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous), Mysuru, and presented a paper titled presenting a Paper, titled “Women of Words and Colours: A Study of Gilman’s “The Yellow Wallpaper” and Nemichandra’s “Hosa Huttu”. Acted a part from the Play “Stage Chemistry: Neuro-Psychiatric Disorders on Stage” by way of demonstration.

  5. 2 Day 14th Kannada Vignana Sammelana, organized by Swadeshi Vijnana Andolana, Bengaluru, Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research and Bengaluru North University on 15th and 16th of September 2018, Tamaka, Kolar and presented a paper titled “References to Metals in Select Literary Texts and Historical/Everyday Life”
  6. 2 Day National Conference on “Modern Education and Training in Performing Arts”, organized by Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing arts University on 3rd and 4th April, 2018. Presented a paper titled “Towards Capacity: Teaching English Language Skills through English Theatre for Students Pursuing Education through Kannada Medium”
  7. 2 Day 9th National Women’s Science Congress Seminar -  presented a Paper on “Wives and Mistressess in Select Novels of Shivaram Karanth with Special Reference to Pamma and Duggi in Mey Managala Sulliyalli”, organized by Matru Vedika of Karnataka Science Congress, on 7.11.2016 and 8.11.2016 at Doddaballapur.
  8. 3 Day 12th Kannada Vijnana Sammelana,  organized by Karnataka Science Congress, in collaboration with Karnataka Veterinary , Animal and Fisheries Sciences University in Bidar from 15th to 17th September 2016 and Presented a Paper in Kannada on “Cows: Ethnic, Literary and Scientific Dimensions”.  Gave a Mono-Acting Session in connection with the Cultural Evening.
  9. 3 Day X Karnataka Sociology Conference on “Development, State and Environment in Karnataka: Issues, Conflict and Concern”, organized by Karnataka Sociology Association and  the Department of Sociology, Maharaja’s College, University of Mysore, Mysuru on August 17,18 and 19, 2016, and presented a Paper titled “Means and Modes to Bridge the English Divide”. Gave a Mono-Acting Session in connection with the Cultural Evening.

  12. 3 Day 41st All-India Sociological Conference on “Development, Marginalization and People’s Movements” organized by the Department of Sociology and Social Work, Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, Orissa in December 2015 (27th to 29th) and presented a Paper titled “Artist-Students of Distance Education” (under Gender Studies RC 10).  Gave a Mono-Acting Session in connection with the Cultural Evening
  13. 2 Day National Conference on “Changing Perspectives in Indian Classical Performances (Dance/Drama/Music) on the 11th and 12th of December 2015, organized by Department of Dance, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad,  and presented a paper titled “Fictional Representation of Artists: Portrayal of Manjula in Shivaram Karanth’s Mey Managala Suliyalli and Manohari Das in  S.L. Bhyrappa’s Mandra”.

UGC sponsored National Seminar on “Theatre, Theory and Praxis: An Enquiry into Modern Theories of Drama and the Theatre” Organized by P.G. and Research Department of English, Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur in collaboration with Kerala Sangeetha Natak Academy, presented a Plenary Paper titled “Drama-Based Instruction: Experiments and Experiences”  on the 25th of  November, 2015. 
  15. 2 Day 8th National Women’s Science Congress, held in Hebbal, Bengaluru on the 7th and 8th of November, 2015 and presented 2 Papers titled, “Father-Poets Pray for Their Daughters” and “The ‘Fallen Women’ in Shivaram Karanth’s Novels”. Gave a Mono-Acting Session in connection with the Cultural Evening.

Gave a Mono-Acting Session in connection with the Cultural Evening.
  18. 3 Day 11th Kannada Vignana Sammelan held between 13th and 15th of September, 2015, Raichur, and presented a Paper titled “Food Security and Sustainable Development: Lend Your Ears to the Experience of Ant-Narrators”. The paper was in Kannada. Gave a Mono-Acting Session in connection with the Cultural Evening

Presented a paper titled “Connie Constance versus Court: A Study of Man-Woman Relationship in Lawrence’s Lady Chatterley’s Lover” and also chaired a session on the 4th of September, 2015.  Gave a Mono-Acting Session in connection with the Cultural Evening.
