Dr. R. Purnima is a very valuable person not only to the academic world but to the whole society in the city of Mysore. She is a talented dancer and musician and her performance has been widely appreciated in the media. What I truly admire in her personality is her constant striving to influence her enviornment. She is running a ‘Children’s Literary Club’ for non formal and creative education for children. Her children in this club not only come from well-to-do homes, but from the streets as well. There is no organization of this kind of democratic mix and I feel strongly her effort deserves recognition and support of every kind.

Having watched the Children’s Literary Club and the infectious enthusiasm of its founder R. Purnima during the past few years, I am amazed how one can fill oneself in life given the resolute will and faith in what one has chosen to do.
We do many things to win attention to ourselves in life. But how admirable and worthy of respect that someone from a well-to-do family with a good position in the Karnataka State Open University, should have thought of collecting children from families of daily wage earners, maid servants, brick layers, vegetable vendors and let them mingle with upper class children as equals amidst bright surroundings and help them gain self-confidence to face the future – all this calls for genuine concern for others, unfailing attention to details, and constant planning.
Going through what children have written in Kannada and English about the men they have met, the books they have read and a wide variety of activities they have engaged in, I notice an incredible competence. It’s true Purnima is very much behind it, but that anyone with a full-time job, should be able to give so much time and have an eye for little details is a tribute to her qualities of leadership.
May others emulate her example and help her keep the flame bright for ever.
At a time when the real purpose of education is lost sight of, with educational institutions functioning more as factories, robbing as they have been regretfully doing the joy of learning, it is heartening that the Mysore based Children’s Literary Club is devotedly engaged in creative activities aimed at the all round development of the personality of children. Imbued with a sense of selfless service, the Club, the live-wire and the moving spirit behind being the energetic R. Purnima, has set itself before lofty ideals of bringing to the fore the innate talents in the young, providing opportunities to them for sharing these talents, broadening the frontiers of true knowledge, a knowledge, as opposed to the cramming of facts in the young minds of children as unfortunately our education seeks to do, inculcating a sense of confidence, and above all kindling a feeling of commonality, making them feel that all of them are bound with silken threads of oneness, transcending the narrow boundaries of race, religion, region, caste, creed and class. Towards fulfilling these great ideals, the Club is assiduously striving with Missionary zeal. In refreshing contrast to the blaze of publicity of many of the so called organizations, the Children’s Literary Club is maintaining a very low profile and has lived up to the noble concept of ‘Nishkama Karma’.
It was an electrifying experience to be with the respective children.
Dr. R. Purnima’s enterprise of running the ‘Children’s Literary Club’ is a noble and admirable idea. I have been following its course in the last seven years. What I most value is her selfless dedication to the objective of giving children – especially from the deprived sections – a wide and stimulating view of the contemporary world, its heritage of art, letters, science, technology and human values, as exemplified by the works and lives of the great figures of human history. I wish her the successes of seeing her wards succeed in life as good human beings with vision and compassion.
After watching In Search of Shakespeare and Kuvempu, a Play for which, R. Purnima had done Concept Designing, Script Writing, besides playing 8 roles, Dr. Vikram Chopra wrote Dr. Purnima is an “amazing, graceful, talented, gracious and brilliant person”.
Having expertise and potential to bring in change and instil confidence in young minds is not enough you have proved with your initiative and reiterated that it is empathy, commitment and innovation that work wonders. Theater is the tool for communication and involvement of 'higher order thinking' is the ethical base for transformation is what you have proved with our children. The effort is reaping fruits now and we are grateful for the workshop you did for English Medium School, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, AP.

I really do not know how to thank you. Our students and the staff have been so deeply influenced by your talks and theatre related activities that I see a sea change in them. They are able to overcome their shyness. Having learnt to realise their potentialities, they are able to express themselves very well. For the first time in the history of our Andhra University English Medium School, the students are participating in all the debate competitions and are winning prizes. The public of Vishakpatnam are surprised to see the self-confidence with which even the children from poor families are able to show case themselves. I sincerely thank you, on behalf of our students and teachers, for training our students and helping them to equip themselves with many language tools which help them to face the challenges they encounter in this competitive world.
I felt immensely happy sharing my knowledge of Law with the very attentive and intelligent little girls. I was so impressed by their answers to the questions posed. I am thankful to Dr. R. Purnima for having given me this golden opportunity to speak to these little girls.
Singing here has brought me great joy. The atmosphere here is so homely.

What is astonishing is the variety of birds the children are familiar with!. The grace and the agility of the birds are captured effectively. The choice of the theme is praise-worthy. Congragulations to the artists and the spirit of the leader behind all this effort.

“Nothing resembles one another in Nature – we realize this truth when we observe the leaves closely. Each leaf is unique. At least a few drawings exhibited here will remain long in our memory.”
How intricate, unique and individual the leaves are, was brought to my notice on looking at those splendid drawings. May be, my own awareness of this quality of the leaves has increased immensely. More strength to R. Purnima and the children of CLC.
It is a delight to share the creative expression of your children, even though for a brief moment. Some of them have shown good sense of proportions, some an eye for critical details.
The “Leaves” Project has achieved what probably was the goal of the Children’s Literary Club that is to sharpen the ability of the observing eye to perceive the variety and complexity of life in existence. The young artists have accomplished precisely that.
ಮ್ಯೆಸೂರು ನಗರ, ಒಂಟಿಕೊಪ್ಪಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಆರ್. ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾರವರು ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ‘ಚಿಲ್ಡ್ರ ನ್ಸ್ ಲಿಟರರಿ ಕ್ಲಬ್’ನ ನಾಲ್ಕಾರು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳು ಸ್ವಂತಿಕೆಯಿಂದ, ಸೃ ಸೃಷ್ಟ್ಯಾ ತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಹಜ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಯನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ರೂಪುಕೊಡುವಂತೆ ಇವೆ. ಇಂಥ ಅಪರೂಪದ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಆರ್. ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾರ ಶಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸಿ ಅದು ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗಿ ಇವರ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದೆಂದು ಅನ್ನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಆರ್. ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾರವರು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗಾಗಿ ‘ಚಿಲ್ಡ್ರ ನ್ಸ್ ಲಿಟರರಿ ಕ್ಲಬ್’ನ್ನು ಸತತವಾಗಿ, ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಂದಲೇ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮತ್ತು ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಷ್ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿರು ಭಾಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸುವುದು. ಹಲವಾರು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ ಇರುವ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸುವುದು, ಬುದ್ಧಿಮಾಂದ್ಯ, ಕುರುಡು ಮತ್ತು ಕೊಳಚೆ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಂದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸುವುದು, ಸಂಗೀತ, ನೃತ್ಯ, ನಾಟಕ ಶಿಬಿರಗಳನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸುವುದು, ಕ್ರೀಡೆ, ಕಲೆ, ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಣಿತರಾದ ಗಣ್ಯರನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅವರೊಡನೆ ಮುಕ್ತವಾಗಿ ವಿಚಾರ ವಿನಿಮಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು – ಈ ರೀತಿಯಾದ ಹಲವಾರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿ ವಾರವೂ ನಡೆಸಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮನೋವಿಕಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ದಾರಿಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಮ್ಯೆಸೂರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ, ಬಹುಶಃ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲೇ ಏಕ್ಯೆಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಎಂಬುದು ನನ್ನ ಅನುಭವಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಇದು ಸ್ವಯಂ ಸೇವಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯೂ ಆಗಿರುವುದು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಪ್ರಶಂಸೆಗೆ ಅರ್ಹವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಮೈಸೂರಿನ, ಒಂಟಿಕೊಪ್ಪಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಆರ್. ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾರವರು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿ, ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ‘ಚಿಲ್ಡ್ರನ್ಸ್ ಲಿಟರರಿ ಕ್ಲಬ್’ನ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನು ಹತ್ತಿರದಿಂದ ನೋಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ನೋಡಿ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಕಾವ್ಯಾತ್ಮಕವಾದ, ಅಭಿನಯಾತ್ಮಕವಾದ, ಭಾಷಾತ್ಮಕವಾದ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸೃಜನಶೀಲತೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿರುವ ಸಮರ್ಥರು ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾ ಅವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ನೃತ್ಯ, ಕ್ರೀಡೆ, ನಾಟಕ, ಚರ್ಚಯೇ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎಳೆಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಪ್ತವಾಗಿರುವ ಚ್ಯೆತನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುತ್ತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ನಾಡಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಪಕವಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಅವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೂ ಒದಗಿಸಿದೆ. ಸಮಾನಾಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ, ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬಳಾಗಿಯಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ, ನನ್ನ ಮಗಳು ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೂಳ್ಳುವಾಗ ಹಾಗೂ ನಾನು ಕೆಲವು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದಾಗ ವ್ಯೆಯಕ್ತಿಕವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯ ರಚನಾತ್ಮಕ ಪರಿಸರದ ಲಾಭವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
ಶಾಲೆಯ ಕೆಲಸದ ಒತ್ತಡದಲ್ಲಿ, ಆಕರ್ಷಕ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಯಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಮನೋರಂಜನೆಗಳ ಸೆಳೆತದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಳೆಯರ ಸ್ವಂತಿಕೆ, ಸೃಜನಶೀಲತೆ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿರುವಾಗ ಅಪಾರ ಕಾಳಜಿಯಿಂದ, ಗಂಭೀರವಾಗಿ, ಜೀವಂತಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಮಗ್ರ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವದ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಪೋಷಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾ ಅವರನ್ನೂ ‘ಚಿಲ್ಡ್ರ ನ್ಸ್ ಲಿಟರರಿ ಕ್ಲಬ್’ನಂಥ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸಬೇಕಾದ್ದು ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹ ಇಂಥ ಕೆಲಸಗಳಿಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಎಳೆಯರ ನಾಳೆಗಳು ಬೆಳಗಿಯಾವು.
ಯಾವುದೇ ಒಂದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕೆಲಸ – ಒಂದು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲು – ಕಟ್ಟಲು ಸಂಕಲ್ಪ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಅಪಾರವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು. ಇಂದಿನ ಈ ಬಿರುಸಿನ, ವಶೀಲಿ ಬಾಜಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ನೆರವೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಒಂದು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಕಟ್ಟಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ ಎಂದು ತೋರಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿರುವಂಥದು ‘ಚಿಲ್ಡ್ರ ನ್ಸ್ ಲಿಟರರಿ ಕ್ಲಬ್’. ಸುಮಾರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಎಳೆಯ ಚಿಣ್ಣರ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊರತರಲು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಏಕ್ಯೆಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಏಕಮಾತ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕಿ, ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕಿ ಆರ್. ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾ ಅವರು . ಯಾವುದೇ ವ್ಯೆಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಲಾಭದ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಅನವರತವೂ ಅದರ ಏಳಿಗೆಗಾಗಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದೇ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಸುಮಾರು ಒಂದು ವಾರ ಕಾಲ ಸಂಗೀತದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ಕಾರ್ಯಗಾರವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ . ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾಟಕ, ಆಶುಭಾಷಣ, ಚರ್ಚೆ, ಏಕಪಾತ್ರಾಭಿನಯ, ನೃತ್ಯ – ಮುಂತಾದ ಹಲವಾರು ವಿಷಯಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಇದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಹಲಹತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವ ಈ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಜನ ಗುರುತಿಸುವಂತಾಗಬೇಕು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಕಾರದ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹವೂ ದೊರೆತರೆ ಇದು ಇನ್ನೂ ಉದಯೋನ್ಮುಖವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶಯವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.ಿಸುವಂತಾಗಬೇಕು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಕಾರದ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹವೂ ದೊರೆತರೆ ಇದು ಇನ್ನೂ ಊಧ್ರ್ವಮುಖಿಯಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶಯವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
“ಸಂಕುಲ” ದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಓದಿ ತುಂಬ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಯಿತು.... ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿವೆ. ಸಮಾಜದ ಕೆಳಸ್ತರದ ಅವಕಾಶವಂಚಿತ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ನೀವು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸೇವೆ ತುಂಬಾಆದರ್ಶಕರವಾಗಿದೆ –ಅನುಕರಣೀಯ.
ವಿ.ವಿ. ಮೊಹಲ್ಲಾದ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಬಾಲಕಿಯರ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಲಯದ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತುಂಬ ಉತ್ಸಾಹಿಗಳು. ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯ ಕುಡಿಗಳು. ಆಡಿದ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಭಾಷಣ ನನ್ನ ಸ್ಮರಣೀಯ ಅನುಭವಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಕೂಟದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ನಿಲಯದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರು ಚೂಟಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಚಟುವಟುಕೆಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ‘ನಾನೇಕೆ ಬರೆಯುತ್ತೇನೆ’ ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಇಂದು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದೆ. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರು ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಚರ್ಚಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡÀರು. ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಹಾಸ್ಟೆಲ್ಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ರೀತಿಯ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಶೀಲತೆ ಕಾಣುವುದು ಅಪರೂಪ. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಹಳ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಕೂಟದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಈವತ್ತು ಅಸ್ಸಿಸ್ಸಿಯ ಸಂತ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ಸರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಈ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ನಿಲಯದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರಿಗೆ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸ ನೀಡಿದೆ. ಎರಡು ಗಂಟೆಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಏಕಾಗ್ರತೆಯಿಮದ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸ ಕೇಳಿದರು. ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿಷಯ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಅಂತ ತಿಳಿದುಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಕೇಳ್ತಾಯಿದ್ದೆ. ಅವರು ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಗಮನವಿಟ್ಟು ಕೇಳಿರುವುದು ಖಾತ್ರಿಯಾಯಿತು.
ಈ ದಿನ ಆತ್ಮೀಯ ಮಿತ್ರರಾದ ಡಾ. ಆರ್. ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾರವರ ಕಾರಣ, ಈ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ನಿಲಯದ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಕಲೆಯಾದ ‘ ಗಮಕ ‘ದ ಪರಿಚಯವನ್ನು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪಠ್ಯ ಭಾಗದ ಪ್ರಸಂಗಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುವ ಸದವಕಾಶ ದೊರಕ್ಕಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂತೋಷಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಈ ರೀತಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕøತಿ, ಕಲೆ, ಧರ್ಮಗಳ ಪರಿಚಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡಬೇಕಾದದ್ದು ಅತ್ಯವಶ್ಯಕವಾಗಿದ್ದು. ಈ ದಿಶೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಥº ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸುತಿತರುವುದು ಪ್ರಶಂಸನೀಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಅನುಕರಣೀಯ.
ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಲವಲವಿಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಗಳು ನನಗೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಆನಂದವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದವು. ಈ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸದಾಕಾಲ ಬೆರೆತು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಲು ನನಗೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಆನಂದವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಕರೆದಾಗ ಬರಲು ಸಿದ್ಧ.
ವಿದ್ಯೆ ಅನ್ನುವುದು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಎತ್ತರ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಅನ್ನುವುದು ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರ ಸೊತ್ತು ಎನ್ನುವ ಇಂತಹ ದಿನಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಡಾ. ಆರ್. ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾ ಅವರ ಶ್ರಮ ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಸಾರ್ಥಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ತುತ್ಯಾರ್ಹ. ಅವರ ಶ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಅರಿತು ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯಿಂದ ಕಲಿಯುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳೂ ಅಭಿನಂದನಾರ್ಹರು.
ಇಂದು ‘ಓಜೋನ್ ಪದರ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಹತ್ವ’ ಕುರಿತು ಚಿಲ್ಡ್ರ ನ್ಸ್ ಲಿಟರರಿ ಕ್ಲಬ್ಬಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಅವಕಶ ನನಗೆ ದೊರೆತದ್ದು ಅತೀವ ಆನಂದ ಉಂಟಾಗಿದೆ. ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಉತ್ಸಾಹ, ಆಸಕ್ಕಿ ಗಮನೀಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆ ನೀಡುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಸ್ತುತ್ಯಾರ್ಹವಾದದ್ದು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿರುವವರು ಅಭಿನಂದನೆಗೆ ಪಾತ್ತರು.
ತುಂಬಾ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಯಿತು ಎಲೆಗಳ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ. ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ನೋಡುವುದನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸುವುದು ಮುಖ್ಯ. ಕಣ್ಣು ಹೀಗೆ ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಮನಸ್ಸು ಹರಿತವಾಗಿ ಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಗ್ರಹಿಕೆಗೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗೂ ಸಂಬಂಧವಿದೆ. ಇಂಥ ಕಲಿಕೆ ಈ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆಯಲಿ.
ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯೊಡನೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಮಧುರ ಬಾಂಧವ್ಯ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ತಮ್ಮೊಳಿಗಿನ ಕಲಾ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಯನ್ನು ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಸಲು ಇದೊಂದು ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಉಪಾಯ. ಪೆನ್ಸಿಲ್ ರೇಖಾ ಮಾಧ್ಯವೇ ಕರಕುಶಲ, ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಹಿಡಿತ, ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ವಿವರಗಳ ಅವಲೋಕನಗಳನ್ನು ಬಹು ಚೆÀನ್ನಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಬಗೆಯ ಕಲಾಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ, ಜೀವನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳವ ಕಿರಿಯರ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮತ್ತು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹ, ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾರ ನಿರಂತರ ಸೇವೆ ಶ್ಲಾಘನೀಯ.
ಎಲೆ ಎಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚೆಲುವಿನ ಎಳೆ ಕಂಡು ಗುರುತಿಸುವ ಎಳೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸೃಜನಶೀಲತೆಗೆ ಈ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನವೊಂದು ನಿದರ್ಶನ.
ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಶೀಲತೆ ಬಹಳ ಖುಷಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಈ ತರಹದ ಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಅಬ್ಸರ್ವೇಷನ್ ಪವರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರೇಮ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲು ಸಹಕಾರಿ.
ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಬರೆದ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳ ಈ ಪ್ರದಶ್ರನ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯ ವೈಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಿ ತೋರಿಸುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಶೀಲತೆಯ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟತೆ ಮಟ್ಟ, ವ್ಯೆವಿಧ್ಯವನ್ನು ತೆರೆದು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದೊಂದು ಸ್ತುತ್ಯಾರ್ಹ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ. ಅನುಕರಣೀಯ ಕೂಡ.
ಎಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸುಪ್ತ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊರತಂದಂಥ ಒಂದು ಶ್ಲಾಘನೀಯ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ. ಒಂದೇ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ಬಗೆ ಬಗೆಯ ಹಾಗೂ ವ್ಯೆವಿಧ್ಯಮಯವಾದ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಬಹುದು ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಒಂದು ನಿದರ್ಶನ. ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಏಕ ವಿಷಯಕೇಂದ್ರಿತ ಚಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ, ಚರ್ಚೆ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಚಾರ ವಿನಿಮಯಗಳು ಅವ್ಯಾಹತವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯಲಿ ಎಂದು ಹಾರ್ಯೆಸುತ್ತಾ ಈ ಸಮದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಹೃತ್ವೂರ್ವಕವಾದ ಅಭಿನಂದನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
ಚಿತ್ರ ಕಲೆಯ ಯಾವ ಸ್ಕೂಲಿಗೂ ಹೋಗದೆ ವಸ್ತುಗಳ, ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯ ಸೊಬಗಿನ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಚಿತ್ರಿಸಿದ ಕಲೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಆನಂದವಾಯಿತು. ಸುಪ್ತ ಕಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ತರಲಿಕ್ಕೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾದ ಗುರುವು ಬೇಕು. ಆ ತರಹದ ಗುರು ಡಾ. ಆರ್. ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾ.
‘ಚಿಲ್ಡ್ರನ್ಸ್ ಲಿಟರರಿ ಕ್ಲಬ್’ (ಸಿ.ಎಲ್.ಸಿ.) ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಅನುಭವ ಅದರ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗಷ್ಟೇ ಸೀಮಿತವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಆ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂಂದಿಗೆ ಒಡನಾಡುವ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ನನ್ನಂಥವರಿಗೆ ತೆರೆಯುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ಹಸಿರಾದ ನೆನಪುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಅನುಭವಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಿರಿಯರ ಮಡಲಿಗೆ ತುಂಬಿದೆ. ಮನೆಯ ಮುಂದಿನ ಪುಟ್ಟ ತೋಟ, ಹಿತ್ತಲಿನ ಜೋಕಾಲಿ, ಮನೆಯ ಮೇಲಿನ ಮಾತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಗೆ, ಮಾತು, ಜಗಳ, ಆಟಗಳನ್ನು ಚೆಲ್ಲುತ್ತಾ ಪುಟಿದಾಡುವ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಗಳ, ಆಚಾರ ವಿಚಾರಗಳ, ಜ್ಞಾನ ಕೌಶಲಗಳ ಕಲಿಕಾಕಣಜವನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವ ನಿಷ್ಕಾಮ ಕರ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ತೂಡಗಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾ ಆ ಕಾರ್ಯದ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ನೋವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೋಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಸದ್ದಿಲ್ಲದೆ ದಕ್ಕಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ನಗುನಗುತ್ತಾ ,ಚಿಣ್ಣರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬೆರೆಯುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಅಚ್ಚರಿಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
ನನ್ನ ಮತ್ತು ಸಿ.ಎಲ್.ಸಿ. ಯ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದದ್ದು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ನಾಟಕದ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಾರವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ. ಮಕ್ಕಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ವ್ಯವರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಇದರ ಮೂಲಕ ನಾನು ಕಲಿತೆ . ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲ ಬಗೆಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಇದ್ದರು. ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳು, ಕಾನ್ವೆಂಟಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಪೋಷಕರ ವರ್ಗದಂತವರನ್ನು ಮರೆತು ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು ಪೂರಕವಾಗಿ ಕೊಳು-ಕೊಡುಗೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೇಗೆ ಬೆರೆಯಬಹುದು, ಬೆಳೆಯಬಹುದು ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾದರಿಯನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರಗಳು ನಾಟಕವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸುವುದನ್ನೇ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯವಾಗಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಅನುಭವ ವ್ಯೆವಿಧ್ಯ ದೊರಕಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾ ಒತ್ತು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಬಗೆಯ ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಗೆ ಕಥೆ ಬರೆಯುವುದು, ಚರ್ಚಿಸುವುದು, ಚಿತ್ರ ಬರೆಯುವುದು, ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡುವುದು, ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ ರಚಿಸುವುದು .... ಹೀಗೆ ಗಮನ ಕೊಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಚದುರಂಗರು ಮಕ್ಕಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಾಲ ಮಾತುಕತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳೆದಿದ್ದರು. ನಂತರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಾವಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ನಾಟಕದ ಅಂತರಾಳವನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನೋಡಿ ಅಚ್ಚರಿಪಟ್ಟರು. ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಹಾಗೆ ರೂಪುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಕಾರಣರಾಗಿರುವ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾರನ್ನು ಮುಕ್ತವಾಗಿ ಹೊಗಳಿದರು. ಚದುರಂಗರ ಈ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ಸಿ.ಎಲ್.ಸಿ. ಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ಎಂದರೆ ಅತಿಶಯೋಕ್ತಿಯೇನೂ ಅಲ್ಲ.
ಮ್ಯೆಸೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮನೋವಿಕಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವ ವಿಕಸನಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿ.ಎಲ್.ಸಿ. ಒಂದು ಮುಕ್ತದ್ವಾರ.
ಪ್ರೊ.ಎಚ್.ಎಸ್. ಉಮೇಶ್ ಅವರು 15-10-2017 ರಂದು ಮಾಡಿದ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಲ್ಡ್ರನ್ಸ್ ಲಿಟರರಿ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಬೆಳೆದು ಬಂದ ಹಾದಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿದರು. ಯಾವುದೇಒಂದು ಕ್ಲಬ್ 27 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದರೆ ಅದರ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಬಹಳ ಮುಖ್ಯ. ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಅವರು ಎಲೆ ಮರೆಯಕಾಯಿಯಂತೆ ಇಷ್ಟು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಯಾವುದೇ ಪ್ರಚಾರವನ್ನು ಬಯಸದೇ ಹಲವು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿದೆ ಎಂದರು. ತಾವು ಆ ಕ್ಲಬ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ರಾಮನ ಕನಸು, ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ನಾಗರೀಕತೆಗಳು ನಾಟಕಗಳ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಇನ್ನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿ ಇದೆ ನಾಟಕಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಧಾರಣೆ (ಉತ್ತಮಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಾ) ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಆ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಇನ್ನೂ ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ಮಜಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆದಿಟ್ಟರು. ಈ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಇಷ್ಟು ವರ್ಷ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಲು ಕಾರಣ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮ ಅವರ ಸಮಾಜಮುಖಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ತಂದೆಯವರು ನೀಡಿದ ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರ; ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಏನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಅವರ ಹಂಬಲ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಕಲಿಸಬೇಕಾದರೆ, ಕಲಿಯುವ ಮನಸ್ಸೂ ಇರಬೇಕು; ಆ ಕಲಿಯುವ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಇರುವುದರಿಂದಲೇ, ವಿಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿ ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿ, ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯಎಂದರು. ಸುಮಾರು 25 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ರಂಗಭೂಮಿಯ ಪರಿಚಯವೇ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮ ಅವರು ಇಂದು ರಂಗಭೂಮಿ, ನಾಟಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಪುಗಾಲನ್ನು ಇಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯ ವೇಗ ಅಚ್ಚರಿಯನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆಎಂದರು. ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ ನಾಟಕಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆಯುವುದು, ಅಭಿನಯಿಸುವುದು, ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸುವುದು, ಇವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮ ಅವರು ದಶಕಗಳಷ್ಟು ಹಿಂದೆಯೇ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ತರಬೇತಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಆದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿಗಳು ಈಗ ಈ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿವೆ ಎಂದರು. ಹೀಗೆ ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿರುವ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಇನ್ನೂ ದಶಕಗಳ ಕಾಲ ತನ್ನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಲಿ ಎಂದು ಹಾರೈಸಿದರು.
